The former PMH site, now known as 1909, will deliver around 1,000 new dwellings across six apartment sites.

Building heights will be staggered, with setbacks softening the interface between the development and the surrounding neighbourhood. Lower buildings will be located at the boundary of the site, and the tallest buildings (up to 30 storeys) will be located in the centre of the development. The PMH Design Guidelines, which are available on the 1909, Subi East Website provide detail around building heights and preferred uses.

Civil construction and landscaping works began in September 2024.  This will deliver new roads, parks and the create 6 large apartment sites. This work is expected to be completed in early 2026, followed by the sale of the first apartment site.

DevelopmentWA has called for expressions of interest from parties interested in leasing or buying the building. A preferred tenant is likely to be announce later in 2025.

DevelopmentWA has started a process to secure a tenant for the building. When that process concludes late 2025, more information will be available on who the tenant will be and the proposed use.

No developer has been chosen yet. Following completion of the civil and landscaping works in early 2026, the first site will be released to the market.
