Broome Yinajalan Ngarrungunil Health and Wellbeing Campus - Overview

About the Broome Yinajalan Ngarrungunil Health & Wellbeing Campus

The Broome Yinajalan Ngarrungunil Health and Wellbeing Campus (HWC) is a pioneering initiative by Nyamba Buru Yawuru (NBY), providing holistic physical and psychological health services for the West Kimberley region. This first-of-its-kind development in Australia is guided by the Yawuru vision of mabu buru (healthy country) and mabu ngarrungunil (healthy people) for mabu liyan (good wellbeing). The name Yinajalan Ngarrungunil, meaning ‘care for people’ in the local language, reflects the campus's commitment to comprehensive and culturally appropriate care.

Located at 78 Dora Street and a portion of 20 Dickson Drive, Broome, the campus will integrate existing and proposed health facilities, as well as long-term lease sites for complementary care providers. DevelopmentWA is supporting Nyamba Buru Yawuru with remediation, subdivision, and civil works to prepare the site for development.

As project manager for NBY, DevelopmentWA is proud to have supported the delivery of the Yinajalan Ngarrungunil Health and Wellbeing Campus. The project was officially handed back to NBY on 27 October, 2025.
