Lot 912 Midland Road, Bushmead - Overview

Lot 912 Midland Road, Bushmead

We are proposing an exciting new project at Lot 912 Midland Road, Bushmead.

The former Bushmead Rifle Range site may be developed into a diverse residential community that celebrates the site's heritage and is sensitive to its surrounding bushland and semi-rural setting.

The 24 hectare site is located just 16km from the Perth CBD and a short distance from the town centres of Guildford, Midland and Kalamunda.

Its close proximity to employment at Midland, Forrestfield and Kewdale, coupled with easy access to Perth Airport, the Perth Hills and the future Forrestfield railway station makes Lot 912 an ideal location for a range of housing choices designed to complement the site's surroundings.

What's Happening Now?

Lot 912 Midland Road, Bushmead is currently moving through the planning phase and has completed two key statutory steps.

  • November 2020: Lot 912 was rezoned from ‘Public Purposes’ to ‘Urban’ and ‘Urban Deferred’ under the Metropolitan Region Scheme.
  • October 2025: the Minister for Planning approved the amendment to the City of Swan Local Planning Scheme to reclassify Lot 912 Bushmead from unzoned to 'residential development' zone.

This re-zoning to ‘residential development’ allows the project team to start on the next phase in the planning process, preparation of the Local Structure Plan.
