We engage with the community and provide opportunities for them to positively influence development outcomes. This work helps us to create communities that are safe, healthy and enjoyable places to visit, live and work and which have access to diverse and affordable housing, support community infrastructure and activities and opportunities for visitors and residents to socialise. We work closely with Aboriginal people, communities and other stakeholders toward reconciliation efforts.
Community engagement
Engaging with the community to identify needs, aspirations, expectations and concerns. We provide the local community with opportunities to positively influence development outcomes, and to ensure we deliver places that minimise impacts during construction and maximise community benefit upon delivery.
Reconciliation
DevelopmentWA’s work can disturb or change the natural environment and impact Aboriginal heritage and cultural links to land and country. DevelopmentWA addresses these impacts by working with Aboriginal people and communities on reconciliation efforts that will provide benefit to all and close the gaps that currently exist between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples.
Social and affordable housing
Developing land to support an increase in the supply of social housing and delivering affordable land for people on low to moderate incomes. We also deliver affordable living initiatives to help reduce the ongoing costs of living in our residential estates.
Community development and activation
Creating safe and healthy communities by providing places that support physical and mental health and wellbeing, creating equitable and inclusive places, and investing in and supporting community development.
