Hyden - Overview
Hyden is a Wheatbelt town situated 340 kilometres east of Perth. Primarily built on agricultural industry, the area produces cattle, sheep, wheat and cereal crops.
While the population is similar in size to many other small Wheatbelt towns, Wave Rock attracts more than 130,000 visitors to the town each year.
Wave Rock, the extraordinary natural rock formation that resembles a large tidal wave, was formed by the gradual erosion of rock over many millions of years and is 14 metres high and 100 metres long. There are also a number of smaller ‘waves’ in the area surrounding Hyden.
The town is known for providing an authentic outback experience for visitors.
