GAZETTAL OF BENTLEY REDEVELOPMENT SCHEME AND ENDORSEMENT OF BENTLEY REDEVELOPMENT MASTER PLAN
The Minister for Planning and Lands has granted final approval of the Bentley Redevelopment Scheme (the Scheme) and the DevelopmentWA Board has endorsed the Bentley Redevelopment Master Plan (the Master Plan).
Notice of approval was published in the Government Gazette on 2 September 2025, with the Scheme coming into effect on 3 September 2025.
The Scheme transfers planning authority from the City of Canning to DevelopmentWA. As a result, the City of Canning’s Local Planning Scheme No.42 and Local Planning Policies no longer have effect within the Bentley Redevelopment Area. All applications for development should now be lodged with DevelopmentWA.
The stakeholder and public submissions received during the consultation period were considered by DevelopmentWA and revisions have been made to the previously advertised Scheme and Master Plan, where considered appropriate.
The Scheme and Master Plan can be viewed at DevelopmentWA’s office, Mia Yellagonga Tower 2 Level 7/5 Spring Street, Perth between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Monday to Friday or on the DevelopmentWA website.
Information sessions will be held on 16 and 18 September 2025 to provide further details about the Scheme and Master Plan, DevelopmentWA’s role going forward, and the next stages of development. Visit our website for more details and to register your attendance – either in person or online.
